Every Mega Millions play has a built-in 2× to 10× multiplier, so the prize depends on the ticket's multiplier. Winner counts are national totals from the official results. California pays non-jackpot prizes pari-mutuel, so amounts there differ. Always check your ticket with your state lottery.
